Everest Region

The Khumbu Region, known as Everest Region, is one of the most famous places in Nepal. Not only is the Khumbu home to four of the ten highest peaks in the world but also the legendary Sherpa people who have made these alpine valleys their home for hundreds of years. As you explore the Everest Region you will discover the beautiful stone villages where the Sherpa’s spend the warmer seasons tending to their Yaks and growing their farms. Up on the hillsides you will find colourful Buddhist monasteries, strings of prayer flags, trails of juniper smoke and the chanting of mantras that fills the valley below. In the upper Khumbu valleys you will be rewarded with a stunning Himalayan panorama of jagged peaks and come face to face with the worlds most impressive mountains including the mountaineering Mecca of Mount Everest.
