Packing

Like Nepals dramatic landscape its weather can be changeable so its hard to know what to bring on your trip. Most travellers to Nepal will spend time in the warmer cities of Kathmandu and Pokhara as well as going trekking high up in the Himalayas where it can be very cold. It’s important to take some time to choose the right clothes to bring so that you will be comfortable and have the best time on your holiday.

Kathmandu & Pokhara

In Kathmandu, Pokhara and the foothills of Nepal you can wear your usual travel clothing. The cities of Nepal are a cultural clash of traditional people and the younger generations who wouldn’t look out of place in London or New York.

Trekking

When you head off into the Himalayas trekking you will be able to store your excess clothing at your hotel and just take your lighter walking clothes. Your trekking clothes should be light, breathable and fast drying clothing that you can layer up depending on how warm or cold it is. No matter what the season in the mountains you can always get snow so a good waterproof jacket is going to be a lifesaver during your trek. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes or boots that you have worn a few time before you go trekking.  The sun is also very strong up in the mountains so a good hat, sunglasses and sunscreen is essential. There are lot of other small things to remember like gloves, backpack and a travel towel and you can find a full list of clothing and equipment under each trek that we offer.

Chitwan & Terai

If you are going to visit the Chitwan National Park on the Terai plains then you should bring light synthetic clothing suitable for hot and humid climates. There can be mosquitoes there so long sleeves and trousers are a good idea to prevent getting any bites.
